And the rights to TERMINATOR goes to Sony Pictures? Nope!.. Lionsgate? Nope!.. the winner (unless you’re like me who see this not as winning) is Pacificor… Pacifi-who??? When Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek and their now bankrupt company Halcyon bought TERMINATOR rights from producers Andy Vajna and Mario Kassarb back in 2007 for $30 Million, Santa Barbara-based hedge fund Pacificor was one of the folks that lent them the money. And now Pacificor has bought the rights for $29.5 million, making it the new owner.. Read the rest of this entry »
Since Deadline Hollywood saw it appropriate to tackle these 3 info in one post, I figured why the hell not, it makes life more time efficient anyways. So let’s do this shall wel.. Read the rest of this entry »
EW has this first look image of PASSION PLAY which is Mitch Glazer’s directorial debut, starring Megan Fox and Mickey Rourke. The photo came with an interview with Rourke who shocked me because he said and I kid you not, he said that Fox is the best young actress he’s ever worked with. I think all that physical hit to the head during the filming of The Wrestler has impaired Rourke’s judgment… Read the rest of this entry »
I don’t know if some of you would recognize or remember the name Peter Bogdanovich. Seeing his face in the image above would ring a bell to those of us die hard fans of The Sopranos series. But Bogdanovich is also a filmmaker which for some reason spent the last 2 decades only on TV gigs, but the decades before that, he directed such films as The Last Picture Show starring Jeff Bridges, Mask starring Cher and Paper Moon starring Tatum O’Neal… Read the rest of this entry »
Last month, actor Peter Sarsgaard was cast as the villain Dr. Hector Hammond in the upcoming live action movie GREEN LANTERN starring Ryan Reynolds. Heat Vision said Tim Robbins has been cast to play Hammond’s father… Read the rest of this entry »
Too bad The Brothers Bloom didn’t get the recognition it deserved. Rachel Weisz was absolutely entertaining, collecting hobbies.. that’s brilliant! But that’s usually what happens when movies don’t get released on the initially scheduled date, cause when they get shuffled around, just like The Road and the upcoming Shutter Island, there’s a bigger chance that they may end up being overlooked and snubbed completely. And last fall’s The Lovely Bones wasn’t something that Weisz should be proud about. For her next gig, Weisz will play Bond’s wife… Read the rest of this entry »
Variety reported that Grey’s Anatomy hottie Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in the adaptation ONE FOR THE MONEY for Columbia Pictures and Lakeshore Entertainment, which are currently looking for a director. This story about a bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum, based on the 1999 book by author Janet Evanovich, was supposed to star Reese Witherspoon but nothing ever happened after all these years. The 16th Plum novel is supposed to arrive this summer. This is a good sign isn’t it?! Maybe for once Heigl could do a feature film that’s not rom-com.. Read the rest of this entry »
Wohoo! One of the best series on television in the previous decade was 24. Hands down it’s a brilliant concept and Jack Bauer is one of the most badass agents ever created and Kiefer Sutherland is the perfect actor for the role. I’m watching season 8 now and eventhough the show keeps using the same pattern, the kind that South Park made fun of, it still has its own surprises and cliffhangers that get you anticipating the next episode. How bout this,… for the next 24, Jack Bauer will not only go to Europe, he will hit the big screen… Read the rest of this entry »
Gotta admire good editing work, even if it’s just for a vibrant video. This one is by Paul Prouxl, compiling a bunch of footage from what’s been considered as the awesome movies of the last decade, the 2000s. I wouldn’t say I’d agree with all the choices of titles but for the most part, it hits the target. I like how the music starts with Eminem’s Lose Yourself and then it ends with a soothing Mad World… Read the rest of this entry »
