Last month when Angelina Jolie decided to exit WANTED 2, the assumption was that it because she wanted to do GRAVITY to be directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Y Tu Mama Tambien, Children Of Men). But then a couple of days after that info came in that said Jolie was not doing GRAVITY either. And just like that, according to Vulture, Mickey Rourke got replaced by Ron Perlman (Hellboy, SEASON OF THE WITCH) in the upcoming CONAN reboot directed by Marcus Nispel. I guess we know now which project Rourke might want to do because he was also circling King Hyperion in Tarsem Singh’s WAR OF THE GODS which is expected to start shooting in April while CONAN will be filmed in Bulgaria later this month.
Perlman will play Corin and he’s a single dad.
Perlman joins the cast that includes Jason Momoa as the new Cimmerian fighter, Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Stephen Lang as the villain Khalar Singh, Bob Sapp as Ukafa and Leo Howard as young Conan.
Sean Hood was hired to rewrite the script, he story will have Conan embark on a quest to avenge the slaughter of his people including his father

Thank God it’s Friday, my fellow movie freaks everywhere! And today, Samuel Goldwyn Films has sent me 2 new exclusive stills from the upcoming action/thriller HARRY BROWN starring 2 time Academy Award winner, the great Michael Caine. The movie hits theaters on April 30th, 2010.
HARRY BROWN is also screening at SXSW, the screening will occur March 16th at 6pm at the Paramount.
A really cool clip from the movie titled “you failed to maintain your weapon, son” has hit the web and you can watch it also below.
I’ve always admired Caine because he’s one of those actors who’s consistent and gets even better with age, this might just be his ticket to a 3rd Oscar, I’m bettin’ this badass performance will end up among the best actor potentials in 2010 along with George Clooney in THE AMERICAN and Leonardo DiCaprio for SHUTTER ISLAND.

Remember last year when Joaquin Phoenix claimed he’s quit acting, and then all of a sudden he went rapping. He was on David Letterman and nobody knew what the hell he was talking about. And then he fell off stage during a rap performance. And all the while he seemed all serious about it. And wasn’t Casey Affleck supposed to film the whole thing and come out with a mock-doc. Ha! Good times! Every one of his endeavors was source for a good laugh. Even Ben Stiller made fun of him at the Oscars. Phoenix should do something silly again just for our amusement. But what do we have here. Whoa! Look who’s back to join us again. It’s been a while since we heard anything about David Fincher’s long attempt to bring a new HEAVY METAL Movie to the big screen. I’m looking forward to SALT (watch the trailer) starring Angelina Jolie, directed by Phillip Noyce, there’s a bit of Bourne to it and Jolie is just a remarkable actress to watch.
