Meryl Streep has won 2 and been nominated for Oscar a thousand times.. well, 14 to be reals. But the point is, we could really use a different contender and I chose Melissa Leo. Her white trashy, single mom, trying to survive performance in Frozen River leaves with you after you watch the movie. Will the Oscars recognize her? I doubt it. On another note, I just have to include Jennifer Carpenter in this list because nobody in horror movies this year can act as scared as she was in Quarantine.
