The HARVEY MILK Project

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Harvey Milk

These pictures have been released by slashfilm for quite some time now. I figured if I don’t share this with you then that would make me a terrible movie buff.
It’s a movie about the first gay American to be elected as public official. His name was Harvey Milk and he will be played by Sean Penn who has the appearance of a hippie complete with beard and pony tail. He’s accompanied by his gay activist friend Cleve Jones, played by Sean’s Into The Wild star Emile Hirsch. This movie has yet to have an official title but it’s been called MILK.

Harvey Milk was the city supervisor of San Francisco, California. He was assassinated in 1978 and his famous quote was “If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door.”

ROCKY and RAMBO are done!

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Sylvester StalloneSylvester Stallone said during Rambo premiere that he’s not going to make anymore Rambo or Rocky film. He’s done reprising those roles once and for all.
He’s finally realized that not a steroid in the world could make him strong enough to go through another Rocky or Rambo movie.

This is what Sly Stallone said…

“This is the last Rambo just as Rocky Balboa is the last Rocky,”
“I can’t go any further. It was a miracle that it even got done.”

Well… this goes against everything that producer Weinstein said the other day about how he wants to bring Rambo back to fight in the Untied States. I guess if it has to come down to that, then Weinstein better find another actor to play the main role because Sly’s is basically saying “Nevermore, Nevermore” to both iconic characters… I use the “nevermore” phrase because the word is that he wants to film a movie about Edgar Allen Poe and he’s thinking Robert Downey Jr. to play the part

It’s about time he finishes this nonsense anyway… he’s well off, he should enjoy his retirement or he could just help produce projects by other filmmakers.
I just hope he doesn’t wake up one morning and out of the blue he gets the inspiration to film Judge Dread 2. Not a word could describe how horrible that would be.

I wonder what Sylvester Stallone would think about the upcoming movie SON OF RAMBOW…

SUPERHERO MOVIE Trailer

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

I’m not one to like spoof movies but you have got to check out this trailer!
You know how they usually put the funny scenes only in the trailer and it looks better than the movie… well this is one excellent example.
This clip makes me want to check out this movie when it comes out in theaters March 28th.
The costume suit is plain light green, I think it plays a mockery on the whole visual green screen effect.
I wish they’d called it something else other than “Superhero Movie” because clearly, it only makes fun of Spiderman.
The only flipside to it all is that it’s made by the guy behind the scripts of Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4, which we all know were nothing compared to the first two films in the franchise.

A high school loser Rick Riker develops superhuman abilities like incredible strength and armored skin. He becomes a costumed crime fighter known as “The Dragonfly.” Standing in the way of his destiny is the villainous The Hourglass who, after an experiment gone wrong, develops the power to steal a person’s life force and in a dastardly quest for immortality.
And of course… a spoof movie isn’t complete without the presence of old legend Leslie Nielsen.

Another INDIANA JONES Picture

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Empire Magazine just keeps having images of upcoming summer movies…they’re on a roll… make me wish I could work for them someday…but hell I’ll just start my own movie magazine.
Here’s another image from INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, this time we get a good look at Cate Blanchett’s character, she’s going to play Soviet villain agent Sparko. I think Cate Blanchett is hot… blond or brunette.
The movie hits theaters everywhere May 22nd, 2008 and remember… they’re going to show the teaser trailer as an attachment to the movie Spiderwick this coming Valentine’s day.

The Legend of JACKIE MOON

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Brilliant! Brilliant I tell you! This is just like the marketing style that was done for the movie WALK HARD a few months ago where they had a bunch of Grammy winning artists telling stories about how Dewey Cox inspired them and took part in their lives. Of course, they’re all joking about it, but to be able to actually invite a number of superstars to spend some time promoting your movie in a hilarious clip is just brilliant.
Here’s a silly clip of a bunch of NBA Hall of Famers and Superstars telling their stories about how Jackie Moon inspired America decades ago and the impact he still has on them today.

Jackie Moon by the way is Will Ferell’s character in the upcoming sports comedy film SEMI-PRO, opens February 29th, 2008.
Jackie moon is coach-owner-player of one of the most terrible basketball teams in the history of the sport. They always lose and they come up with ridiculous attractions and stunts. When the league decides to merge with NBA, they’re not planning to let Jackie’s team Flint Michigan Tropics join in, so Jackie’s team decide to prove themselves worthy and do the impossible… to win.

HELLBOY Reigns

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Check out this badass image of HELLBOY sitting on his badass throne, holding his fists together and looking at you in disgust. This is, by the way, the magazine cover for the latest issue of Empire Magazine.
If you look closely on the cover, it says “40 Movies that will get you Sex”
HAHAHA!! I wonder what’s in that list.
Better question why, why do you have an image of Hellboy with something that says 40 movies that will get you laid?! hahaha! :)

HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY stars Ron Pearlman again as the red demon defender against the forces of darkness. In this sequel a bunch of rebellious creatures from the mythical world are waging a war against humanity and Hellboy and his gang must fight to save the world in the battle that’s diabolically massive. The movie arrives July 11th, 2008.

IN BRUGES in a Poster

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

I told you today we’re going to see a lot of posters :) But don’t worry, movie info is still around as well and I’m more than stoked to share the interesting ones with you.
Available at worstpreviews.com is the new poster for Colin Farrell’s upcoming comedy IN BRUGES about a two hit men who after their kill are ordered to hide and keep a low profile IN BRUGES, a small boring town in Belgium, to wait for further instruction.
The movie opens limited February 8th, 2008.
Look at the way Colin’s holding ice cream and a gun in his hands.. maybe he’s not such a ladies man after all.

Jim Carrey Bungge Jumping

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Jim Carrey is officially my hero now. I’ve always wanted to do death defying stunts, I just don’t have enough balls to actually accomplish any of ‘em yet. Maybe I’ll save up some money to do skydiving. When I say stunts, I don’t mean crazy stupid acts like what the Jackass gang do for a living.
For the movie YES MAN, Jim Carrey did his own stunt and he bungee jumped off a bridge. This is a brief clip of that very moment.

YES MAN bungee jumps into theaters everywhere December 19th, 2008 and it tells a tale of a man who goes into self-help program and decides to say yes to everything that comes his way. At first it’s a surprisingly rewarding experience but after a while… it backfires.

I only say yes to some situations in my life… but to say yes to everything… well.. I’m not really into any kinky and freaky experimental stuff… wait.. what are we talking about again?

LEATHERHEADS Lean Mean Poster

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Today’s like the day of the posters or something because we’re going to see a lot posted here. Comingsoon.net has a big one sheet image of the upcoming football comedy LETTERHEADS starring George Clooney, Renee Zelweger, and John Krasinski, the movie’s also starring and directed by George Clooney.
When I watched ER years ago, I would never have thought that George Clooney would be as big a star as he is today. Because back then I thought none of the ER stars would go any further than TV gigs. And I thought the name “Clooney” didn’t have a ring to it that would remind you of a movie star. Plus after Batman and Robin I thought his career was over right there and then.
What can I say? The man proved us all wrong.

PRINCE CASPIAN New Poster

Posted by Rama On January - 31 - 2008

Available at Impawards.com, here’s the new poster for the new Narnia movie.
I can see it now! The line leading up to the theater’s box office is going to be hella long because all the avid readers of the world will be there May 16th, 2008. They’re probably going to dress up like the characters. I wonder if anybody would be weird enough to show up looking like Aslan.
Better yet, ya know how theaters would have displays of upcoming movies, not posters, but huge marketing displays advertising the characters of the movie in all sorts of creative ways.
In anticipation of this movie, nearing the release date, it’d be cool if theaters everywhere had, on one spot, in their building… a caged Lion. :)
