Me On The Today Show

The other day my brother and I were at the NBC’s Today Show, among the crowds waiting to get their 15 seconds of fame in front of the camera, that’s exactly what happened to yours truly, I was on TV!! someday hopefully I’ll get to be the one stars interviewed but for now, being a spectator in the background will do. Look at me in that picture,.. God am I a fob or what! LOL :) Can I be any more of a tourist!

Well today is New Year’s eve, we’re going to have to spend the whole day in Times Square all the way til midnight when the countdown New Year’s eve ball would drop. So since I won’t be able to post updates until after I get back to So-Cal the next day, let me take this minute to wish you Rama’s SCREEN readers everywhere… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Let’s make 2010 the best year for movie geeks like you and I, let SHUTTER ISLAND reign, let IRON MAN 2 conquer and may the spirit of cinema be with us always. Thank you for being loyal Rama’s SCREEN readers in 2009, I hope you’ll stick around for another wild, electrifying ride with this humble movie blog in 2010.
In the words of Tiny Tim… “God bless us everyone!”… except you James Cameron.. you’ve got so much AVATAR box office blessing, it makes me wanna puke.

THE LAST AIRBENDER Scanned Images

Airbender

Producer Frank Marshall previously tweeted the world that the new full trailer for THE LAST AIRBENDER will arrive in February 2010, possibly attached to PERCY JACKSON movie, so for now, you can enjoy the old teaser that was released this past summer and these scanned images from the latest issue of Empire, via LastAirbenderFansOnline. Those of you fans of the cartoon series better get used to the title not having the word AVATAR because with James Cameron’s 3D epic breaking IMAX box office hit record, Aang’s live action journey on the big screen, brought to you by Director M. Night Shyamalan will always be known only as THE LAST AIRBENDER forever and that includes the sequels. View all the images after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 To Arrive In 2011?

Posted by Rama On December - 30 - 2009

Ghostbusters

When there’s something strange in your neighborhood for the freakin’ third time? Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS 3. For the past year, we’ve been hearing solid info and rumors surrounding the project from the question of Bill Murray’s reprising his role all the way to Sigourney Weaver ranting about the plot she had in her head. But we can always come back to Harold Ramis, probably the only one who wouldn’t promise bullsh*t about what we can anticipate. He talked to Heem recently and implied the movie might arrive in 2011… Read the rest of this entry »

THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH New Images

Eagle Of The Ninth Image

Seems like Focus Features is giving you New Year’s present in the form of new images from the upcoming THE EAGLE OF THE NINTH, via Yahoo, in addition to the previous one. Directed by Kevin Macdonald, starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong. So while in spring, Worthington is going to clash with the titans, in fall, Tatum is going to fight the Celtics.  I still don’t think Tatum is a talented actor but we’re just going to have to get used to the idea that Hollywood is prepping him to be the next big thing. RAPUNZEL New Image

Rapunzel1

Still in New York but I figured I’d steal a few minutes to make some updates so you guys can be excited about some upcoming movies. A new image of Disney’s RAPUNZEL has hit the web, DisneyPixar.fr, in addition to the previous one we saw back in the summer. Starring the voices of voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy. Once again, it’s another shot of the dashing bandit being tied down to a chair by Rapunzel’s long blonde hair which quite frankly, is quite fascinating. That long hair of hers would do a lot of good if she worked as a firefighter.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2nd Trailer

Posted by Rama On December - 29 - 2009

How To Train Your Dragons

Remember that 1st trailer for Disney’s PRINCESS AND THE FROG that had an intro celebrating some of Disney’s greatest hand-drawn animated movies of the past? Slashfilm has found the 2nd trailer for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and it seems like Dreamworks Animation is doing similar strategy, the trailer starts with quick montage of the studio’s previous hits, of course it doesn’t mention Shark Tale, Monsters Vs. Aliens, and Over The Hedge. I doubt HOW TOT RAIN YOUR DRAGON is going to be Dreamworks’ next big hit since Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, I don’t know about you but I don’t like hearing Jay Baruchel’s voice, he does play a perfect geek though. It’s uncertain whether or not the following is an official version, but watch the trailer after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Big Screen NIGHT AND FOG

Posted by Rama On December - 29 - 2009

Night And Fog

I’m still out here enjoying New York City. Today the wind was blowing at 40 mph and the weather was 25 degrees cold, my friend and I are about to hit the city again this evening and the temperature is expected to go down even lower. I’m a tropical boy, I wasn’t made for this environment but I’m loving every minute. If everything goes as planned, New Year’s eve will be snowy, finally. Real quick now, according to Variety, Producer Gil Adler who loves bringing comic book based characters to the big screen (Constantine, Superman Returns, the upcoming Dead Of Night) and producer Shane McCarthy have optioned the screen rights to the sci-fi horror comic NIGHT AND FOG created by Alex Leung, Matthew Bradford & Roberto Castro, from publisher Studio 407… Read the rest of this entry »

New INCEPTION Teaser Trailer

Posted by Rama On December - 28 - 2009

Inception

The French version that hit the web not too long ago got yanked by the studio but the official US version of the new teaser trailer for INCEPTION has finally arrived, via Apple, you can watch it using the media player below. It’s been attached to SHERLOCK HOLMES this past weekend and I stand by my opinion, this trailer is cool and yet mindboggling at the same time, the city that folds onto itself is a great concept plus there are some intense cinematic set pieces involving Leo gettin’ soaked and a badass shot of him prepping his gun but other than the mind is the scene of the crime, Christopher Nolan’s tricks remain in his sleeves for now. Watch the trailer after this jump, see if you can pick up some more hints… Read the rest of this entry »

IMDB’s 25 Best Movies Of The Decade

Posted by Rama On December - 28 - 2009

The Dark Knight

Here we go again. Since I’m still out here enjoying the Big Apple waiting for the countdown ball on New Year’s Eve this week, I figured we’d take a quick look again at what others think were the best films of this past decade. Master blogger Peter Sciretta of slashfilm took the liberty of compiling a list as voted by IMDb’s users. Of course, I forgot about Downfall, that was an excellent foreign language film indeed, I should’ve put that one on my list. Christopher Nolan has four of his films mentioned here, making him the most popular filmmaker of the decade. I thought Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem For A Dream was a thought provoking, well-acted film, but I wouldn’t call it one of the best. And Clint Eastwood’s only best film of the decade was Gran Torino? Really? What about Letters From Iwo Jima or Million Dollar Baby? Check out the whole list after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
