This fall, filmmaker Todd Haynes brings us an interesting and exaggerated look at Bob Dylan’s life. It’s a biopic of one of history’s legendary musicians, told by 6 different actors that represent different times in Bob Dylan’s life. Those actors are Christian Bale, Marcus Carl Franklin, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, and Ben Winshaw. That’s right! They’re all going to be Bob Dylan. This is actually pretty brilliant because biopic movies usually require actors whose faces look just like the people they portray, but instead…Todd Haynes wants to capture the character and story about Bob Dylan. Heath Ledger did say that he was impressed by Cate Blanchett’s performance in this movie. Those 6 actors will embody the legend’s life and work
The film is about the life of Bob Dylan’s early days as a struggling folksinger, the rise to the forefront of the early-’60s folk scene, the controversial switch to rock, the motorcycle accident and the subsequent retreat from public view, and the latter-day de-emphasis of recording and concentration on the concert series known as the Never Ending Tour.
It’s the first biopic to receive the approval of the very own icon the movie portrays and it will open November 21st. I wonder if Bob Dylan himself will make a cameo appearance in this movie. Why do you think he agreed to this idea instead of having one actor to play him like Jamie Foxx did Ray Charles? I think they should make a biopic movie of my favorite Rock band of all time: OASIS.
Here we have the trailer of the movie, a clip of a scene from the film and firstlook images from I’M NOT THERE showing the many faces of Bob Dylan.
