If there’s one thing we can say about Quentin Tarantino‘s casting choices for his WWII epic drama INGLORIOUS BASTARD is that so far, it has been a really weird ride.
From Eli Roth to B.J. Novak, from Mike Myers to Samm Levine. The only box office name is Brad Pitt whose name I’m sure will be plastered on the posters for this movie.
I know that Quentin is responsible for reviving the film career of John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) but does Quentin really think that his movie can make movie stars out of B.J. Novak and Samm Levine and at the same time heal the image and reputation of Mike Myers that’s been tarnished by The Love Guru?!
The next one to join the cast isn’t quite as weird. According to Variety, German actor Michael Fassbender is in negotiation to star in the movie that’s going to premiere at next year’s Cannes Film Festival.
No word yet on which role he’s actually going to play but I’m guessing he’ll probably get to play a Nazi soldier, the cold blooded “Jew-Hunter” in the INGLORIOUS BASTARD storyline.
Michael Fassbender, however, has been more known as a German actor who’s played various British characters, but audiences here know him more for his six pack performance in the Spartan visual awesomeness, 300 as the character Stelios who says the famous line “..Then We Will Fight in the Shade.”
* In celebration of this info, here’s Michael Fassbender’s (Stelios) famous scene in 300
