For the past couple of months we’ve been hearing updates on A VERY HAROLD & KUMAR CHRISTMAS. Kumar a.k.a Kal Penn will quit his White House job to join John Cho and smoke pot on screen again. And the directing job goes to goes to Todd Strauss Schulson, using the script already written by the brains behind these iconic characters, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. Speaking of script.. Vulture has read it.. Yup! I don’t know if they read and reviewed the script while gettin’ high at the same time but now we know the plot.. ho, ho, ho! Get this… Harold and Kumar are not friends anymore….
“finds Harold and Kumar in their 30s and no longer on speaking terms (at script’s beginning, it’s been a long time since they’ve seen each other). Harold is a married, drug-free, Wall Street executive who lives in a home that looks “more like a house in a Nancy Myers movie than the man-cave he shared with Kumar”; Kumar is single, still lives in the man-cave, and has recently had his medical license suspended for smoking marijuana. The pair are reunited when a package intended for Harold arrives at their old apartment and Kumar delivers it to his house. While there, in a pot-related mishap, Kumar burns down a Christmas tree grown special by Harold’s father-in-law, requiring the two to strike out in search of a replacement.
What follows is another loosely glued-together batch of dick and weed jokes that should satisfy fans”
The website went on to say that the second movie wasn’t as funny as the first one, I disagree.. I think they’re both just as funny and Escape to Guantanamo Bay was one of the few actual funny comedy sequels out there.
So.. the next adventure is about them trying to get a new Christmas Tree.. along the way, Neil Patrick Harris will return and there’s a small role written for Kelly Ripa as NPH’s co-host for a TV Christmas special. I hope Ripa says yes to the offer because she’s drop dead hot and I think just seeing her in a Harold & Kumar movie would be a blast.
Wait.. we’re not done yet.. remember! We’re talking about H&K film here.. so there’s bound to be a lot of insane characters..
There are.. Waffle making robots! That’s right.. Waffletbot..
And then there’s a drug taking infant.. I’m already laughing just thinking about it..
O and if you’d recall, New Line wants this film shot in 3D.. you wanna know why? Because.. (drumroll please)…the script has a “five-page claymation sequence in which Harold and Kumar, high on psychoactive eggnog, are chased through midtown Manhattan by a giant evil snowman”.. Score!
A VERY HAROLD & KUMAR CHRISTMAS is set to open either in Holiday season of 2011 or 2012.
