Holy cow! How long have I slept? Felt like I was in this incubator and I’ve missed out on many years and lots of movie info, so.. where are the hoverboards? Damn you BTTF! Okay, let’s make this real quick.. last month, it was said that the director of the first ALIEN Movie, Ridley Scott, was toying with the idea of revisiting the franchise and possibly making a prequel.
It’s actually more like a remake instead of a prequel now because Bloody Disgusting said that Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott and even Tony Scott are all on board and they’re planning to bring a new Ripley to the big screen.
A new Ripley?!.. the days of Sigourney Weaver or Linda Hamilton or Jodie Foster are behind us, who on earth could be tough enough to play a badass female who fights aliens? I’d say Hillary Swank.
Those 3 producers have also hired a director to take on the project. His name is Carl Rinsch, he’s a commercial/music video director and does work for Scott Free Productions, he’ll have producing credit too.
Right now, take all of this with a grain of salt… mmm love salt.. mainly because fact is Ridley Scott is probably still busy working on the finishing touches for ROBIN HOOD so any development on ALIEN Remake would take a longer time than my sleep.

I last heard it was going to be an origin flick. but who cares where or how the Aliens came to be. If they tell us, wouldn’t that ruin the mystique?
If its a remake, though with a new actress playing Ripley, I think Milla Jovovich is a bad ass, kick ass, chick. She would be good.
Milla Jovovich would be a decent choice.. she does kick ass and got the body.. but..she’s too much associated with Resident Evil franchise.
Plus, if I remember correctly, Sigourney Weaver got nominated for her role in the sequel, ALIENS.. which proves that it requires talent too.. talent that only Hillary Swank can provide because she’s also badass tough.
