Back in summer, it was announced that AMERICAN GLADIATORS the big screen version is happening. The popular TV show that started in the 80s and got re-charged in 2008 for a short while.. will finally be larger than life.. or larger than all those freakazoid muscles combined. The show’s creator Johnny Ferraro will be working with producer Scott Mednick (300, Superman Returns) to make this happen. The idea is to create an action story that takes place inside the world Ferraro has created. And now Variety says scribe Peter Lliff has been hired to write the screenplay (Varsity Blues, Patriot Games) which will turn the gladiators into superheroes. The movie is set for release in 2011
Ha! Since we’re not getting any JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie, I guess we’re just going to have to settle for this.
