When word got out back in July that Darren Aronofsky, the man behind depressing movies like Pi, Requiem for a Dream, and The Fountain, is going to be the one to direct the New ROBOCOP Movie, some thought “What the H?!” and I thought “What the F*ck?!” and some say “o Hell no!” while others say “O no he didn’t!”
MTV got him to talk a few words about the Reboot project and he literally said a few words….
“we’ve got to get a screenplay. We’re deep in it,” he added. “But there’s not much to say until there is a screenplay.”
When asked if it’s going to be set in Detroit city just like the previous three installments, all he said was..
“I don’t think it’s set anywhere that’s recognizable.”
So.. is he talking about Barstow?
Well, wherever this ‘unrecognizable place’ maybe (Robocop in space???), we can rest assured in the fact that it will stay true to its rated R nature a.k.a It’s going to be stone cold hardcore violent.
Part man, part robot, all cop and plenty of ammo.
