Aronofsky's ARK

Noah

This is an info from this past weekend from an awesome movie blog, Slashfilm. The word is that Darren Aronofsky, the director who brought us depressing movies like Pi, Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain but will bring an Oscar buzz movie The Wrestler this year has, with his friend Ari Handel, wrote the script for a movie about NOAH, yup, the dude who commanded a pair of every animal earth to enter his big ass boat and save them and his family from the great flood
This is what Aronofsky said..

“We have an amazing screenplay,” Aronofsky told /Film. “It’s a great script and it’s HUGE. And we’re starting to feel out talent. And then we’ll probably try and set it up.”
“It’s the end of the world and it’s the second most famous ship after the Titanic. So I’m not sure why any studio won’t want to make it,” said Aronofsky. “I think it’s really timely because it’s about environmental apocalypse which is the biggest theme, for me, right now for what’s going on on this planet. So I think it’s got these big, big themes that connect with us. Noah was the first environmentalist. He’s a really interesting character. Hopefully they’ll let me make it.”

Yes, it’s an interesting concept but would anybody wanna see that movie?
The Passion of the Christ was a huge box office success because it’s about Christianity, it didn’t hold a secret agenda.
If I remember correctly, isn’t the story of Noah about God cleansing the earth of all sinful human? It wasn’t about environmental per se. As a matter of fact it sounds kinda like The Day the Earth Stood Still, except this time it’s aliens instead of God.
Look, the point is, I think Aronofsky should reconsider before he makes Noah look and act like Al Gore.
Unless.. maybe one of these days, Latinoreview could get a hold of the script, I’m very much curious now.
