I never really cared to watch MTV’s Behind The Screen, I don’t think Josh Horowitz is that great of an interviewer, I’m sure he’s a cool guy in person, I don’t know, but I’d rather watch James Lipton’s Inside Actors Studio for hours, now that’s a conversation worth following. But Fox recognizes the power and the audience that MTV has and if it wants AVATAR to hit profit, it will need to tap into this channel especially with only about 3 weeks or less til the movie’s release on December 18th, 2009…
According to Variety, On December 3rd, 2009, MTV will present a live webcast of a roundtable with director James Cameron, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and producer Jon Landau in a prelude to a half-hour television special the network will air later in the month.
This whole marketing strategy,.. ehm,.. I meant interview will be be moderated by MTV News managing editor Josh Horowitz in a 30-minute event, which will feature never-before-seen footage from the movie, which will also be shown on AVATAR Facebook fan page, plus fans will be able to submit questions at either site.
Remember, it will happen on December 3rd and then it will be aired as part of MTV’s Behind The Screen series on Dec. 16th.
Of course, as soon as those new footage hit the web, they’ll be here as well, so keep checking in. That’s all I’m gunning for.
