The string of weird casting for the epic WWII movie INGLORIOUS BASTARD by Quentin Tarantino may have come to a more reasonable turn, for now.
As we all know, Brad Pitt and his damn good looks get to be the main lead while the rest have been.. well, let’s just just call them..the band of freaks and geeks.. Eli Roth, Mike Myers, B.J. Noviak, Samm Levine.
There’s some new kids on the block however and one of them is the Goldilocks that launched a thousand ships.
According to Variety, Diane Kruger (Troy, National Treasure) has been cast as the character German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark, who assists the Bastards and figures prominently in a plot to sabotage the Nazis.
The role was previously intended for actress Nastassja Kinski to play.
Along with her, actor Christoph Waltz is also hired to play the character Col. Hans Landa, the movie’s villain a.k.a The “Jew Hunter”.
Damn, that nickname is cold!
So this means, the recently cast German actor Michael Fassbender will now probably get to play one of the German-born Jews on Brad Pitt’s crew of Nazi killers instead.
Also hired is yet another geeky lookin’ dude, Paul Rust (Semi-Pro) to possibly play one of the Bastards too.
INGLORIOUS BASTARD is about a rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers wreak havoc on the bad guys in Nazi-occupied France.
The movie will premiere at Cannes Film Festival in 2009
