Nolan or WB had nothing to do with this,… it’s the just the creation of some hardcore French fans of the caped Crusader and their dark Sin City noir take that might catch your curiosity. It features Joker, Harley Quinn and Pingouin.. that’s French for Penguin. The online movie arrives May 30th, 2009.

Ashes to Ashes is an unofficial short film shot in 13 days and postproduced in France between 2006 and 2008. This fan film is based on the Batman character created by Bob Kane and on the graphical universe of Franck Miller’s Sin City. Original screenplay by Samuel Bodin and directed by Julien Mokrani & Samuel Bodin.
Right in the middle of the super-heroes’ fashion, and benefitting from Batman’s rehabilitation thanks to Christopher Nolan, the two young filmmakers Julien Mokrani and Samuel Bodin went through the challenging project of a short film immersing us right in the heart of a crime story taking place in Gotham City..in the 30’s

SYNOPSIS:
1938
Driven by different, but nevertheless essential reasons, Eddy, Charles and Sergio decide to break into the huge manor that overhangs the city. Their entreprise soon startsto derail as the butler intercepts them.
Blood is split
The three improvised murderers are on the run, their hands covered with blood but at least they have the loot. For three weeks, intense ans unreal sobs echo amongst the city’s roofs. In this big town, devasted by violence and prohibition, three novice gangsters start their ascent in the crime world.
Meanwhile, a vengeful shadow goes on the hunt for them.
