Here’s one from the Rumorland, Via Joblo, Robert Englund, the master behind the face of Freddy Krueger from those scary NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Movies talked at Loveline radio show made a comment regarding the remake which will be produced by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes.
Who the hell talks about movies at Loveline?! Isn’t that show there for you to spill your beans about your sex life?!
About that comment, he said he heard… from some bird somewhere.. that Billy Bob Thornton is offered the main role, the dude with scissors for fingers.
Englund also said he doesn’t mind being replaced for the reboot and that he hopes the movie’s bigger budget will allow for better dream effects that the original couldn’t afford.

I don’t have a problem with Billy Bob Thornton playing Freddy Krueger..
The thing is… when it comes to remakes.. and especially Michael Bay produced remakes.. won’t they tend to be looking to cast people who are younger?!… especially if they want to target teen and young adult audiences again just like what the original movies did.
And what about the cursed degree of Billy Bob Thornton?! Dun…dun.. dun!

You’re forgetting one small thing. Freddy Krueger was an older pedophile. The school janitor, as I recall. The young blood will all be in the kids he’s terrorizing.
As for me, I’m unsure why they NEED to remake it. Remaking a 40, 50 or even older film is one thing. Something 25 years old, tho? Why?

I too don’t think they should remake it, somethings are better left alone as classic…
but Michael Bay is the kinda guy who always thinks everything can be made modern with CG stuff and explosions… in his mind, that’s a remake.
