Warren Ellis is a prominent comic book writer whose work such as GRAVEL is being developed into a movie by Legendary Pictures and then there’s RED which will star Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman.
According to Variety, Vigilante Entertainment has hired scribe Ryne Pearson (Knowing) to adapt BLACK SUMMER based on Ellis’ eight issue-series…
Written by Warren Ellis, illustrated by Juan Jose Ryp, and published by Avatar Press starting in June 2007, the story basically centers on centers on a superhero team called the Seven Guns consists of a group of scientist-adventurers who modified their own bodies for street-fighting in order to fight injustices of corrupt police force, criminal local government and evil private security forces. But the story in the series also alternates between those flashbacks and the details of present time consequences when one of its team members John Horus assassinates the President of the United States and several of his advisers.
