Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was a prequel Star Trek was somewhat of a prequel, Terminator Salvation was also somewhat of a prequel with a bit of a sequel mixed in the equation, so how bout a BLADE Prequel? Last I heard Guillermo Del Toro who directed Blade II said that another movie probably wouldn’t happen, mainly because the relationship between Wesley Snipes and New Line was uglier than Mel Gibson’s divorce.
According to The Sunday Mail, the people who are thinking of BLADE Prequel are the director of the first installment, Stephen Norrington and Stephen Dorff, who played villain Deacon Frost in the film. These 2 Stephens are planning a new trilogy.
“It will be a prequel to the ‘Blade’ movies, Deacon’s story,”
“It’s a new trilogy the director has created. It will cool.
“We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake.”
Via Mania, Norrington talked to Comics2Film, confirming the plan but saying that the project is “not exactly how the article describes but close.” and it “has evolved into a very interesting story… The linkage to ‘Blade’ is still big in the equation.”
Sounds like the end of this new trilogy will eventually lead to the rise of the daywalker but how do you make 3 BLADE Movies without Snipes? That’s a tougher question than.. how do you get Snipes to do his taxes right.
A trilogy with Stephen Dork, er, I mean… Stephen Dorff?? That guy can NEVER be a leading man. And who cares about Deacon Frost? The story always revolved around Blade, not that Frost. Ugh. This is a car crash waiting to happen. Total disaster.
it’ll be hilarious if they title the trilogy FROST
sounds like a family film that misleads you lol
