The other day, Bloodydisgusting said that Carl Rinsch is going to be the one directing ALIEN the remake. 2 Things are clear now thanks to Collider who got the chance to chat with Tony Scott, the brother of Ridley Scott who directed the first installment. Yes, Carl Rinsch will be the one helming the project and no, it’s not a remake,… it’s a prequel, the story or events that would lead up to Ridley’s sci-fi classic.

Carl Rinsch is going to do the prequel to Alien. He’s one of our directors at our company.

I guess there’s no need to cast an actress to play the new Ripley anymore, unless Ripley is still going to be part of the story.
I’m not too big on prequels, remakes, or sequels but hey, if the Scott brothers are overseeing it, then we probably won’t have much to worry about, except for the fact that their production company is still associated with 20th Century Fox which of course has had quite a terrible track record this past year. WOLVERINE and NIGHT OF THE MUSEUM 2 were its latest misery.
But.. what about James Cameron?! The genius who came up with one of the best sequels of all time, ALIENS.. how come he’s not invited to this party? Wouldn’t it have been euphoric if The Scott Bros. had decided to hire Cameron to direct ALIEN prequel instead?!
