Comingsoon.net attended a Disney event and found out that they are now officially in production for Pixar’s CARS 2, the sequel to the 2006 movie about a car named Lightning McQueen and his other talking car friends, directed by John Lasseter.
It was previously said that the movie would be released in 2012 but that’s not the case anymore because they’re aiming for 2011 instead. That means the visionary minds and brilliant animators at Pixar Animation Studios are currently, as we speak, working “around the clock” to make this earlier date happen. Busy, busy, busy!
This is all cool and all,…
but I think they should work on THE INCREDIBLES 2…
that’s a sequel I wanna see more than this one!

Is Luke Wilson still going to be the voice character of Lightning McQueen?
I can understand that anyone can get down and have troubles but should he be involved in a kid’s movie (even though many adults like me enjoyed the original Cars and got lots of life lessons from it)?
I think you meant to say Owen Wilson… not Luke who is his brother
Yes, Owen Wilson will most likely reprise his role as the voice of Lightning Queen…
This sequel is not one of those straight-to-dvd sequels where the original voice stars got replaced by other actors that sound like them.
The last info I heard though… was that Paul Newman was battling with cancer,
the word is that the fine writers at Pixar are including the character Doc Hudson in CARS 2,
However, they’re very much hoping Paul Newman will be healthy enough to reprise the role.
You are so right. Oops, I meant Owen of course. I’m allergic to mornings
I hold good thoughts for Paul Newman’s health, and hope he gets to reprise his role too, he’s such a class act and was perfect in the original.
