2010 will be the third year in a row that Oscars will honor villains for Best Supporting Actor. Assuming Waltz walks away with the prize tomorrow. What’s the fascination with bad guys? I know they can be so evil that it becomes their own charm. So…if Mickey Rourke does well playing Whiplash this summer in IRON MAN 2, will he see win this category at next year’s Oscars?… Read the rest of this entry »

Highway To Oscars: What Is Up With Villains And Best Supporting Actor?
Highway To Oscars: Battle Of The Exes
Their movies aren’t the only two favorites to win Best Picture, they as directors are also going head to head for Best Director category. The term Battle Of The Exes has been used by many to describe James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow this year so I figured why not use it again… Read the rest of this entry »
Highway To Oscars: 1st Time Nominee
I could simply title this post United States Vs. England 2.. but I’d like to call it the battle of 1st time nominees. People say it’s going to go down between Bullock and Streep but I beg to differ, as much as I admire Streep and her marvelous transformation as Julia Child, the best lead Actress this year will be between Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side and Carey Mulligan for An Education.. Highway To Oscars: United States Vs. England
For Best Lead Actor this year, no doubt that it will come down to just 2 names. Because Morgan Freeman, George Clooney and especially Jeremy Renner will only feel grateful that they’d even get to invited to the party. The ultimate match is between Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart and Colin Firth for A Single Man.. Read the rest of this entry »

Craziest Good Guys: Tallahassee, Elvis, Charlie Wax
I wanna place a spotlight on three particular characters that have rocked the screen in the past few months. Three badass, craziest good guys whose methods of taking care of business were unorthodox yet effective, whose impressive charm stayed with us long after the movies were done, thanks to the great actors behind them. Zombieland’s Tallahassee, Daybreakers‘ Elvis, and From Paris With Love’s Charlie Wax. What did those three guys have in common? Or better yet, what does it take to be inducted in the craziest good guys hall of fame? Not that they’d give a damn about it. Heads up, this article contains SPOILERS!… Read the rest of this entry »
Exclusive! BLACK DYNAMITE Director Scott Sanders Wants JAMAICAN ZOMBIE In 3D. He Talked With Marvel About BLACK PANTHER

Michael Jai White and director Scott Sanders
Earlier today I had the opportunity of interviewing director Scott Sanders who brought us one of the funniest movies of 2009 that not many people got to see, BLACK DYNAMITE starring Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight). The DVD & Blu-Ray will hit the stores this Tuesday, Jive your way to get it! Cause trust me, that movie will crack you the F up, it is that insanely hilarious!
I’ll post the entire interview tomorrow but I want to at least post a couple of things that he mentioned regarding the crazy idea he wants to do with Michael, a JAMAICAN ZOMBIE project. This might just be the funniest weed movie that will ever hit the big screen. It’s not in development yet, it’s just an idea for now, but a helluva good one I might add, being a hardcore zombie flick fan myself. And then he revealed that he actually had a chat with Marvel regarding the live action movie BLACK PANTHER but he said it might not be on the horizon quite just yet, so don’t get your hopes up.

Exclusive Interview: Mikaela Hoover Talks James Gunn’s SUPER
Last week I had the awesome opportunity to interview actress Mikaela Hoover who earlier this month signed on to co-star in SUPER, a movie directed by writer/director James Gunn (Scooby Doo, Slither), starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion, Micahel Rooker to name a few.
Special thanks to Kelly for making this interview possible.
The second that I checked out Mikaela’s IMDb page, I knew that interview should’ve been one-on-one in person, instead of via phone because this girl is as talented as she is gorgeous. Check out more of her photos on her facebook fanpage. We discussed her collaboration with Gunn including that one PG-PORN episode and a bit about her career and her character in SUPER, she’ll be playing a superhero that inspires Rainn’s character to become his pseudo-superhero alter ego, CRIMSON BOLT even though he doesn’t have super powers. But what I find most interesting is Mikaela’s favorite director of all time, besides Gunn of course. Read the whole interview after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
How To Get Ready For A Midnight Show
In my area, there’s’ an AMC nearby that always gives midnight shows on Thursday night/Friday midnight, even when it’s not during summer blockbuster season. But as we all know from this past year, midnight showings have become a normal thing for us movie goers. Back in the day, at least where I came from, midnight showings were available only when you wanted to watch fright flicks. This year, we got IRON MAN 2, ECLIPSE (for the ladies) and HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS just to name a few titles. So here’s my question to you..How do you usually get ready for a midnight show? I have some pointers here but they usually just work for me, to each his own, so if they don’t apply to you, then don’t sweat it. If they help, then that’s fantastic, just remember to tell your friends that you heard it at Rama’s SCREEN…. Read the rest of this entry »
