Chris Rock continues his plan of ruining foreign production movies. This year, Rock’s unnecessary urbanized remake of Brit comedy DEATH AT A FUNERAL will hit theaters and Variety reported Rock has also optioned the English language remake rights to French comedy THE FIRST STAR (La premiere etoile). The difference is is they won’t have to turn the cast from white to black again because the characters of of the original version are already black, just the way Rock wants it…
Released last year in France and Germany, the original film is about “a black family who leave their working-class hood to take to the ski slopes. That’s considered a social faux pas in the stuffy resort.” Starring and directed by Lucien Jean-Baptiste
