What would the day be without at least one rumor, huh? So much confirmation left and right, where’s the fun in that?! Here’s one to keep you wondering. Drew of Hitflix heard it through the grapevine that Christian Bale might get the lead role in Andrew Stanton‘s live action adaptation, JOHN CARTER OF MARS but when confronted with the question at the recent Terminator Salvation panel, all that Bale had to say was this..
“I don’t know what that is.”
How much would you bet he’s lying? Cause that’s what I think.. I think he’s bluffing and as soon as he finds out who leaks the story to Hitflix, he’s going to yell at him and curse like a sailor in a very thick Welsh accent.
The only doubt I have is.. I just don’t see Andrew Stanton wanting Bale for this gig. And does Bale really want to attach himself with another franchise? I think Bale needs to do some indie gigs just so he can be versatile again.
The story revolves around a Civil War veteran who retreats into a cave to avoid capture by Apache Indians. He takes an otherworldly turn as he’s transported via time portal to the planet of Barsoom and taken prisoner by 12-foot-tall green men. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, who is in desperate need of a savior.
