Another one has hit the web for all you Twilight fans. Just to recap, we all know by now that Vanessa Hudgens is not set to play Leah Clearwater in the sequel NEW MOON but Eonline has heard that someone famous might get to play the character, Jane. She’s none other than Dakota Fanning.
I’ve never read the book but the casting sheet describes the character as petite blonde with a “Botticelli angel-like face…[and] crimson irises.”. I looked her up and find that she’s a part of The Volturi which is a group of vampires living in Italy, deemed as royalty but they act as enforcers. Jane, in particular, can create illusions of pain.
The casting sheet went on to state “While fellow Volturi guards Demetri & Felix are three times the size of her, they are terrified of her,”
I’m not so sure if Dakota Fanning can develop an intimidating presence.
While other actors have to go through the struggles of audition, my friend is still trying to find ways to snatch that Leah role, Dakota Fanning reportedly had it very easy.. “There were no auditions,” a source reveals. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”
We’ll wait to hear from Summit Entertainment if this is true or not. But if it is, then Dakota will have to get ready to travel far with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson
Director Chris Weitz and his gang better work the casting process quickly if they wanna get the production started by this coming March and have the movie released later this year on November 20th, 2009 as scheduled.
