As you know, Quantum of Solace is the first Bond Movie Sequel ever, continuing where Casino Royale left off, focusing the story on vengeance. So Collider asked Daniel Craig recently if the next Bond film will complete a trilogy instead of starting fresh with a new story… if it is part of a trilogy, then it’s bad news for some friends of mine who thought Quantum of Solace was more like Quantum of Boredom…
“We’ve finished this story as far as I’m concerned,” said Craig. “We’ve got a great set of bad guys. There is an organization that we can use whenever we want to. The relationship between Bond and M is secure and Felix is secure. Let’s try and find where Moneypenny came from and where Q comes from. Let’s do all that and have some fun with it.”
“We don’t know when we’re going to do the next Bond. Nobody’s thinking about it at the moment,” he said. “We’re giving it a rest for the moment. If I can squeeze something in next year I will… but I haven’t figured out what that’ll be yet. But nothing in the cold.”
Q may not have been in Daniel Craig‘s James Bond movies so far but as some of you who’ve seen Quantum of Solace may have noticed,.. James Bond did rely on some technology to get the job done (the cell phone that takes pictures of faces from a ridiculous distance, the computer on MI6 table that looks like straight out of Minority Report).
If Daniel Craig‘s plan goes into motion, that means we’re going back to the James Bond we all knew when we were younger.. the womanizing, gadget-using special agent with witty smart-ass remarks and catchy one-liners.
