It’s been quite a while since the success of Slumdog Millionaire at the Oscars and yet up to this point, hardly anybody has a perfect clue as to what director Danny Boyle’s really going to be doing next. Good thing he’s not taking a decade sabbatical by going underwater like what James Cameron used to do.
And so DigitalSpy try to pin the director with a bunch of questions, mostly titled that he was once attached to, hoping one of them would hit the target. Here’s basically how each it’s gonna go down
TRAINSPOTTING Sequel, PORNO:… Long-Term project
JAMES BOND Movie:… Not happening
MY FAIR LADY:… No
28 MONTHS LATER:… It’s a possibility
MAXIMUM CITY (check out the plot) which would bring the filmmaker back to India:… Down the line, it’ll happen in the not-so-distant future
So… what the hell is his next project then?
“I can’t quite tell you about it because it’s not quite all signed, sealed and sorted out legal-wise. It’s based on a true story so there were complications to do with rights, that kind of stuff. We’re close to solving it and hope to be shooting in March next year.”
The Playlist reminds us of the passion project that Boyle was circling not too long ago, based on the true story of Aaron Ralston, the hardcore American mountain climber who was forced to amputate part of his arm with a dull knife, after it became pinned under a boulder in a hiking accident, this happened in 2003 and it made headlines. Rumor has it Boyle wanted Ryan Gosling for the lead. Once again, sounds hardcore, the man break his bone and cut his arm off with a pocket knife.
But this story has got to be Boyle’s next project right? I mean what else could it be?
