Danny McBride

Before 2003, no one practically recognized the funny bastard named Danny McBride and then The Foot Fist Way came along and all of a sudden, he was in Hot Rod, Drillbit Taylor, Fanboys, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Land of The Lost, he’s like the new supporting star of comedy. He even did well going toe to toe with George Clooney in Up In The Air. I’ve never seen the HBO series Eastbound & Down, I don’t think I’m curious enough, but one thing for sure, McBride will always get a gig as long as his friends Ben Best and director Jody Hill are still alive…

According to Variety, McBride will star in L.A.P.I. which will be directed by Hill who brought us last year’s under-appreciated hilarious R-rated comedy Observe And Report
L.A.P.I. is based on a pitch from writers Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan, although the details are still kept secret, it’s basically about a beaten-down, hardboiled P.I. played by McBride.
The project is housed at Rough House Pictures, the Mandate-based production company headed by Hill, McBride and David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express)

Diliberti and Sullivan themselves are the team in charge of writing that remake project of Richard Pryor’s classic BREWSTER’S MILLIONS and they actually has a spec titled COMIC-CON which is an action-comedy about a group of friends who plan and execute a daring heist at Comic-Con in San Diego. I’d pay to watch that one.
McBride has a new medieval comedy opening this year, YOUR HIGHNESS, with James Franco, Natalie Portman, and Zooey Deschanel
