Just recently, when info hit the web that Channing Tatum is considered for THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, along with a gazillion other actors, it was also said that the studio had approached Keira Knightley to play Betsy Ross, which I found a bit weird but this one makes more sense,.. Turns out, it’s not Betsy Ross, it’s Peggy and Deadline New York said the competition for the female lead is between Knightley, Alice Eve (She’s Out Of My League) and Emily Blunt.
So they’re going for an American to play CAPTAIN AMERICA but they’re ok with a Brit to play his love interest… interesting..
If you’d recall, Blunt was supposed to play Black Widow in IRON MAN 2 but Fox kept her tied to Gulliver’s Travels so it’s understandable why she would be chasing CAPTAIN AMERICA.
We’ll see how this race turns out.. I hope it doesn’t drag as long as trying to find the male lead.
It was just a matter of time before somebody would snap some spy photos of the first day filming of GREEN LANTERN at that Old Point Bar in New Orleans, Louisiana. The place is renamed Broome’s bar in honor of GREEN LANTERN creator John Broome. They were only filming two scenes there, as you can see, that’s Reynolds.. wearing purple.. I’m not gonna spend too much time on this because as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never watched the series Avatar: The Last Airbender. My friend Sam has been pushing me to watch it for the longest time, even my roommates said it’s a great show but I still can’t get around to doing exactly that, mainly because I still need to catch up on Damages, Psyche, and Spartacus:Blood and Sand, I’m watching them online. So the following info is for Sam and those of you who thought the trailer for THE LAST AIRBENDER was about the coolest thing to ever hit the web. Last month, DreamWorks Studios launched a nationwide casting search for the child actor to play the character Max, in its upcoming movie REAL STEEL already starring Hugh Jackman as the dad. The studio was looking for someone between the age 10-14 years old, described as “a street-smart, tough, charming kid with a hard, untrusting outer shell which hides a warm enthusiastic spirit beneath. I was actually anticipating this adaptation, PRIEST, (check out the details) right until after I watched the entire film of Legion. Ya see.. both movies are by the same director, Scott Stewart and Legion was a colossal disappointment, so now I’m not keeping my hopes up about PRIEST at all. But ET Canada has this first look footage from the film set, the lead cast promising you a different type of vampires. The search for the actor to play Steve Rogers in the upcoming live action Marvel film THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA has gotten ridiculous. We were told last week that John Krasinski (TV’s The Office) is out of the race, we were led to believe that the choices have come down to either Vogel, Ethel, Evans or Hedlund but now Hitfix said Reese Witherspoon’s ex may have entered the competition as well.. If you’re not liking the teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: ECLIPSE, then this vampire movie titled SUCK might be your cup of tea. Let me just start by mentioning the names of the actors.. Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins and Moby... that’s right.. also starring Jessica Pare, the hottie from that Hot Tub Time Machine red-band trailer, plus Malcolm McDowell (Zombie’s Halloween movies) who seems to be playing a slayer here. SUCK premiered at Toronto Film Festival last year and made its way to the recent SXSW ‘10, it doesn’t have a distributor or theatrical release but I hope it arrives soon because the trailer below, via its official youtube channel, is bloody enticing.
