DISCUSS: Should They Recast THE JOKER For The Dark Knight Sequel?

Heath Ledger

Who will be the Villain in the next Batman Movie? Rumors were spreading over the web last year, from Depp as Riddler to Rachel Weisz as Catwoman.. All this talk is because there’s no way now to bring back Two-Face and eventhough The Joker survived in THE DARK KNIGHT, the great man who played him with such awesomeness, Heath Ledger passed away.
MTV asked TDK producer Chuck Roven if they would do anything different with The Joker in the next installment? Maybe implying that he’s locked up in Arkham Asylum or that Batman simply beats down a new villain in a whole new story.

“We have to separate the actors from the role,”
“On a personal level, Heath was a friend of mine. We had worked together before ‘The Dark Knight,’ but I still think that ‘The Dark Knight’ is its own thing, and we have to separate them,”

Wow! He’s practically saying there’s a possibility The Joker might return and that somebody else might play him, am I getting that right?
Separate the actors from the roles is easy in most cases but Heath Ledger has made The Joker his own so much so that to imagine somebody other than Ledger to play the iconic villain would be an impossible task to accomplish.

Do you think they should recast The Joker for the next Batman Movie?
Who would be worthy to play the role well enough without dishonoring the greatness of Heath Ledger’s performance?
