Disney Walks Out On DAWN TREADER

It stinks to lose a partner and it’s not an easy task to find somebody else you can trust these days, this is probably why I usually fly solo. Speaking of partner, According to Hollywood Reporter, Disney has left Walden Media high and dry with the third NARNIA movie project, VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER.
The reason why Disney decided not to help out with co-financing and co-producing the project with Walden are budgetary and logistical reasons.
I know the economy is the toilet but damn, even Disney has to hold back on making movies?!

This info has also put the talents attached in jeopardy, names like Ben Barnes Georgie Henley, William Moseley and Anna Popplewell who were supposed to return, their fate in all this are still yet to be determined. All Walden has to do is find a new partner, and word has it Fox might be it, considering the fact that it markets and distributes Walden fare under the Fox Walden banner.
But if there’s one thing we know better is that Fox can be major a-hole, the folks there always try to screw with the filmmakers’ fruits of labor and demand unnecessary bullcrap changes at the last minute.

Another obstacle in Walden’s search for a new partner are the previous box office results in comparison to the production budget.
It cost $180 Million to make The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and yet it only earned about $291 Million in domestic box office.
The sequel did worse, it cost $200 Million to make Prince Caspian and the movie only earned $141.6 Million in domestic box office.
Seems like the world is more fond of sequel fantasy-themed movies like LOTR and Harry Potter franchise than to see any fantasy-themed movies with Christian messages.

Do you have a solution to Walden’s problem?
