It’s sad to see bad things happen to good people.
Nobody died or anything but a career can show signs of dying.
The great Djimon Hounsou is an extraordinary talented African Actor who’s been in monumental movies like Amistad, Gladiator, In America, and Blood Diamond
But he is not without flaws. He’s made some not so awesome choices in recent years (Eragon, Never Back Down) let’s face it.. he is just way too talented for those roles.
I’m afraid he’s about to make another mistake.
According to Variety, Djimon Hounsou has partnered with Dynamite Entertainment to star in and produce a full length feature film about immortal sorcerer THULSA DOOM, who is a central figure in the Conan the Barbarian and Kull comic books. He originally appeared in the Robert E. Howard pulp story “Delcardes’ Cat,” published in the 1930s.
In the 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian, THULSA DOOM was played by the great James Earl Jones (The voice of Darth Vader). In that old movie, the character can turn into a powerful serpent.
The origin movie is said to how the hero got started and how his road to hell was paved with good intentions meaning we’ll see how he goes rogue.
No doubt Djimon Hounsou has the physique to do a gig like this.
But if it has to be a non Oscar worthy project, then whatever happened to that GOD OF WAR Project?! He should do that one instead!
A hero falls down a slippery slope to the dark side and ends up as a super-powered James Earl Jones…I think that’s been done before! Well, at least they’ll be able to accomplish this “journey” in one movie.
Cheers,
Ryan
But that’s what HOllywood does most of the time, anyway..
