Pete Docter is the genius, or I should say one of the genius minds behind this year’s best film of the year. That’s right, Pixar’s UP is currently number one on my top ten list of 2009 and if it doesn’t get in the 10 Nominees for Best Picture, then there’s definitely something wrong with the Oscars. By the way, UP is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray, so those of you who’ve seen it, I encourage you to see it again, I watched it 3 times in the theater. And those of you who haven’t seen it.. WHY?! Just go and check it out, you don’t want people to think of you weird. Now there’s been rumors for quite some time that Docter might do a MONSTERS INC. sequel. Last info from this past summer said it’s happening but we haven’t heard anything much since. Sadly, MONSTERS INC. 2 is not going to be Docter’s next project as he revealed it recently via NYMAG…

If my math is correcto, this secret film will arrive in either 2013 or 2014.
It takes a while when working with animation and Pixar is a perfectionist, we wouldn’t expect it to be anything less.
But does this mean we’re not going to see the return of Mike and Sully and Boo?
Docter didn’t win the Best Animated Feature Oscar for Monsters Inc. back in 2001, his movie got kicked by Shrek.
