They’re filming the movie version DRAGON BALL in Mexico city as we speak and hoycinema go the latest photos taken from the set. As you can see Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds, The Invisible) is the one to play Goku and what’s up with that style? I guess they’re modernizing the story. He looks like an ordinary high school kid.
Isn’t Goku’s hair supposed to be bigger than that?
I wonder what James Marsters as Piccolo’s gonna look like? Since Goku is wearing an orange shirt, so at least Piccolo would still have to be green, right?
This movie’s produced by Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) so I’m guessing it would have a very good amount of humor in it. Let’s just hope it won’t turn the whole thing mediocre.
I don’t know about all this, man! A movie adaptation of a popular Japanese comic and cartoon series but they’re doing it in Mexico, starring Americans, and is produced by a Chinese filmmaker… Does anybody else see how disloyal this is to the story?
If they’re planning to do justice, then they’ve been making mistakes already since day one.
A young boy named Goku seeks out to gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world…. that’s a lot of balls!
DRAGON BALL is set to be released by August 15th, 2008.
Directed by James Wong (Final Destination), the latest to join the cast is the cutesie from Phantom of the Opera, Emmy Rossum. She’s going to play the character Bulma. That’s the only best decision this movie’s made so far. She just turned 21 this past September by the way, yeah..baby!
