I got a confession to make, I’m a sucka for Amy Adams. She can be in the crappiest movie in the world and I’d still say she’s radiant. I think I’m under some kind of a spell or hypnosis. I enjoyed Enchanted, but when 3 of the soundtrack songs were nominated, I thought it was a bit too much. The fantasy romantic musical animated-live action tale earned $340 Million worldwide, enough reason for Disney to approve a sequel…
Variety says the mouse studio has hired scribe Jessie Nelson (The Story Of Us) to write the script for ENCHANTED 2 and the director would be Anne Fletcher who brought us Step Up and last year’s The Proposal which I thought was one of the most entertaining romantic comedy I’ve seen in years.
Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld will return as producers. And they expect Adams and Patrick Dempsey will reprise their roles although the deals are not final yet.
Not sure why they didn’t want the original writer Bill Kelly to return and pen the sequel but these things happen, as long as the actors don’t get recast.
There’s no logline for ENCHANTED 2 yet.
The first movie was about Giselle (Amy Adams) is a fairytale princess in the animated world who got banished from the kingdom by the evil witch queen. In the real world she is rescued by a divorce lawyer (Dempsey) and she has to find her way home to the prince she’s supposed to marry but as time goes by she falls in love with the lawyer and now is faced with the choices at hand.
