UPDATE!!!: Variety has confirmed the following info. Stone will play Carell’s daughter and Gosling’s love interest.

There is one thing that Superbad, The Rocker, The House Bunny and Zombieland had in common, a certain redhead hottie named Emma Stone. Unfortunately she’s also voice starring in the upcoming MARMADUKE movie but hey, even hotties make mistakes, right?! According to Vulture she is set to star along side Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling in the comedy titled CRAZY, STUPID LOVE for Warner Bros.
In the movie..”Carell will play a sad-sack dad whose cheating wife left him, and Gosling is the slick bachelor who tries to train him in womanizing” The website is not wiling to reveal the role that Stone will be playing, only says that hers is “a pivotal one that ties the whole film together.”

A WRINKLE IN TIME is an old 1962 time travel story that I haven’t read but there was a made for TV movie version back in 2004 on ABC and now Cary Granat through his Bedrock Studios is developing a new feature adaptation and according to Hollywood Reporter, scribe Jeff Stockwell (The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys, Bridge To Terabithia) has been hired to pen the screenplay…

Based on the classic book by author Madeleine L’Engle, Disney carried the remake rights and Bedrock negotiated rights to the property from the L’Engle estate. In fact, L’Engle’s granddaughter, Charlotte Voilkis, is exec producing.
L’Engle wrote a handful of sequel novels to A WRINKLE IN TIME so this is a potential franchise.

They are in search of Meg’s father, a scientist who disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government on the tesseract problem.

We know Spielberg wants to see a Martin Luther King biopic, and now Hollywood Reporter said Hotel Rwanda co-writer Keir Pearson wants to see CESAR CHAVEZ biopic..

This info could not have come at a more appropriate time because it’s close to this year’s CESAR CHAVEZ Day which falls on his birthday, March 31.
Screenwriter Keir Pearson and Larry Meli have optioned life rights about the late great civil-rights activist and labor organizer, from the Cesar Chavez Foundation. Negotiations were handled by Chavez’s son, Paul.
Pearson, will write the feature screenplay, also produce the project with Meli for Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s Mexico-based Canana Films.
Chavez was “a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). Supporters say his work led to numerous improvements for union laborers.”
In 1994 he was awarded the U.S. Medal of Freedom posthumously and In 2006, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger inducted him into the state’s hall of fame.

Along with Jennifer Aniston and Katherine Heigl, hottie Jennifer Lopez is also in the romantic comedy realm. I’m not looking to the upcoming THE BACK UP PLAN, because I still think Lopez’s only decent movie that she ever starred in was Tarsem Singh’s The Cell. Hollywood Reporter said she’s signed on to star in the remake of the 1987 rom-com OVERBOARD…

The new OVERBOARD is housed at Columbia and will be produced by Will Smith along with Overbrook partner James Lassiter, using script worked on by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage and Leslie Dixon

The original version starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, directed by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) was about a very rich and very spoiled woman who falls overboard from her yacht in the harbor of a small Oregon town and then develops amnesia. She’s taken in by a local carpenter she’s previously maligned. In revenge, he persuades her that she is his wife and the mother of his four boys. Eventually, when her memory returns she realizes she has fallen in love with him and his boys.

Last August Screen Gems bought the screen rights to Steve Harvey’s relationship book ACT LIKE A LADY THINK LIKE A MAN. Variety said today that writers Keith Merryman and David A. Newman (the upcoming BURLESQUE) have been hired pen the adaptation…

I still need to read this book.. 1.4 million copies sold in over 26 languages definitely says a lot of its appeal. Plus I heard that it’s only meant for women to read and other it could help men too.

I enjoy Harvey’s comedy.. and I’ve tuned into his radio show once in a while and the man’s got some good insight.

According to Variety , 300 Producer Scott Mednick who’s also going to bring us the new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Movie and AMERICAN GLADIATORS Movie is collaborating with Oscar winning scribe David S. Ward (The Sting) to make a big screen adaptation of RIGHT STUFF WRONG SEX…

It’s about the secret women’s space program as chronicled in Margaret A. Weitekamp’s book which is a definitive historical look at NASA’s efforts to recruit women astronauts but the movie will focus on the confrontation between two of aviation’s female titans, Jackie Cochran and Jerrie Cobb, two motivated women in a battle to send the first woman into space, set against the creation and ultimate dismantling of the program, within the context of the Cold War and the rise of Women’s movement in America as described by Mednick

Here’s some background on the two women

Jacqueline Cochran was a pioneer American aviator, considered to be one of the most gifted racing pilots of her generation. She was an important contributor to the formation of the wartime Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) and Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). Nicknamed Speed Queen, she held “a slew of aviation records and became the first woman to go “supersonic” with Chuck Yeager flying her chase plane.”

Geraldyn (Jerrie) M. Cobb was part of the MERCURY 13, a group of women who underwent some of the same physiological screening tests as the original Mercury Seven astronauts as part of a private, non-NASA program. She “was one of the first women tested for the female Astro-naut Program, outscoring a majority of the men. As she made her bid to go into space, she also launched an assault on Cochran’s records and set marks for speed, distance and absolute altitude.”

Two women competing to fly even higher.. this should be a good watch.. certainly more promising the last year’s disappointing biopic Amelia. Boy was that a major let down or what! And people were expecting it to be Hillary Swank’s ticket to her 3rd Oscar.. we were wrong.

According to Deadline New York, Lionsgate has acquired the North American rights to DIBBUK BOX, a thriller produced by Ghost House Pictures partners Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert..

IMDb said the story is a fictional retelling of LA Times reporter Leslie Gornstein’s story Jinx in a Box,about an antique wooden box purchased on eBay that contained an evil spirit and was brought to America by a Holocaust survivor after World War II. You can read the complete article OVER THERE.
Screenplay to be written by team Juliet Snowden & Stiles White who brought us the Alex Proyas-directed Knowing which I thought was a decent movie, it was like Proyas’ very own Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

So.. in DIBBUK BOX.. “a family finds itself in possession of a haunted box, and struggles to get rid of its evil curse.” It’s described to be in the same vein as The Shining but it’s a ‘based on a true story/events’ tactic that has worked for The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror and Psycho.
Ghost House and Lionsgate are also developing BURST 3D.

I looked up the word DIBBUK and apparently it comes from a Jewish folklore about the wandering soul of a dead person that enters the body of a living person and controls his or her behavior. Freaky, huh?!

Sorry to break this to you but unfortunately FINAL DESTINATION 5 is coming your way. Via comingsoon.net, WB’s Alan Horn announced today at ShoWest ‘10 that the fifth installment is in the works.
You know.. when you deal with the word ‘Final’, you’d be hoping that it’d be the last one.. not the first of many.
And wasn’t THE FINAL DESTINATION last year in 3D supposed to be the ultimate.. ‘Final’.. one? It was a lame movie by the way.. nothing about the concept was surprising anymore.. it was just gimmick. It only earned $66 Million domestically which I still think it didn’t deserve.
Somebody should kill ‘death’ already! I’m tired of this franchise.

LA TIMES had a chat with Producer Lauren Shuler Donner and director Bryan Singer about future X-MEN movies including the one project that Singer’s already attached to X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. But keep in mind that Singer is also attached to JACK AND THE GIANT KILLER and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, so he’s one busy dude..

Regarding X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, which will be about the team when they were younger.. Singer said the “film will find its axis in the relationship between Professor X and Magneto and the point where their friendship soured. It will also detail the beginning of the school for mutants and have younger incarnations of some characters with new actors in roles of Cyclops, Jean Grey, the Beast, etc.”

“Just doing younger mutants is not enough. The story needs to be more than that. I love the relationship between Magneto and Xavier, these two men who have diametrically opposite points of view but still manage to be friends — to a point. They are the ultimate frenemies.”

Shuler Donner apparently also tries to invite Singer to also make X-MEN 4, which will be another sequel to an already established franchise and not only that, Hugh Jackman also coaxed him into possibly directing WOLVERINE 2 which will take place in Japan. Fact is.. Fox got so much money now from AVATAR that the studio can pretty much approve anything which includes moving forward “with its mutant franchise in all of its permutations” and the studio wants them happening anytime soon…

Singer turned to Shuler Donner and said of “X-Men 4″: “Hold that one off for just a little, I’m fixated on the other one right now.” She nodded and answered, “I will, I will … I’m holding it open with high hopes. It’s totally different [from 'First Class'] and it will be so interesting for you.”

Some thought Bryan Singer’s first two X-MEN movies were dark and grounded in reality, the opening scene in concentration camp was one evidence.
I’ve heard some thought Singer’s first two X-MEN Movies were not faithful to the comic book materials that they were based on.
Although I think we can all agree Singer’s first two X-MEN movies were decent in comparison to the lame third installment by Brett Ratner.
But with all these offers of X-MEN related movies once again handed to him, do you think producer Shuler Donner and Jackman are approaching the right filmmaker for the job?

Remember when info came in about Tyrese preaching to the world that he’ll reprise his role as Epps in the upcoming TRANSFORMERS 3 and none of us gave a damn.
Well, here’s another one. Comingsoon got confirmation from Josh Duhamel himself today that he’ll return for TRANSFORMERS 3
Seriously, his character Lennox could easily be erased from the third installment story and no one would miss him..unless Lennox transforms into a giant robot that transforms into a giant F16.. I could care less about damn Lennox… or Duhamel for that matter.

So what the hell is the actual official title? Collider spotted the banner above that suggested the so-called LEGENDS OF THE GUARDIANS, the upcoming adaptation of the book series THE GUARDIANS OF GA’HOOLE, directed by Zack Snyder, now has a title attached to it,… an additional word.. ‘OWLS’
LEGENDS OF THE GUARDIANS: THE OWLS OF GA’HOOLE. I guess they’re playing it safe by including the entire thing. One thing for sure, the trailer did look pretty sharp…

A lot of info out there but I figured we’d make a quick stop for Reese Witherspoon because I think she’s an excellent actress and I actually wouldn’t mind a LEGALLY BLOND 3, although this isn’t about that, it’s about bloggers.. that’s right!…

According to Deadline New York, Columbia Pictures is developing THE PIONEER WOMAN, with Witherspoon attached to star. This romantic comedy is based on the blog thepioneerwoman.com, which the studio has acquired.
It’s about blogger Ree Drummond and how a detour on a trip from L.A. to Chicago led her to Oklahoma where she met the cowboy who transformed her from spoiled city girl to domestic ranch wife.
Wow!.. he must’ve been some kind of dude.. I can’t even change a woman that drastic.
Produced by Laura Ziskin and Pam Williams , the movie will focus on the “fantasy of trading big city living for a wholesome simpler life.”

Well, I guess the following info just confirms more and more that Collegehumor spoof about Tim Burton not wanting to work on original and it’s always about goth fantasy with that guy. Deadline New York said Tim Burton wants to bring THE ADDAMS FAMILY back to the big screen in stop motion animation and in 3D…

I was disappointed by Burton’s latest work ALICE IN WONDERLAND 3D, I think it goes to show that his usual vision but not supported by a solid story would translate into a big ‘FAIL’.
He is currently working on the big screen version of FRANKENWEENIE, based on his own old short film about a kid who reanimates his dead dog, also in stop motion and in 3D…so he’s currently enjoying this world.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY that Burton wants to make won’t be based on the old TV series or the movies starring the late great Raul Julia… nope.. the report states that Burton’s version would be based on the late cartoonist Charles Addams‘ drawings that inspired those TV and movies and stage plays.
The project is being developed at llumination Entertainment, the Universal-based family film unit headed by producer Chris Meledandri who has acquired the rights to Addams drawings, once a staple of The New Yorker magazine.
They’re looking to hire a screenwriter. Obviously, Burton is expected to provide much of the visual look for this.. new take on THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

UPDATE!!: NPH has tweeted and corrected what everybody seemed to think about yesterday when info hit the web about Hank Azaria voicing Gargamel in SMURFS Movie… Azaria is actually going to play Gargamel.. it’ll be live action.. and he may also be providing voices for other Smurfs characters as well.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hank Azaria (Night At The Museum 2), the man of many voices for The Simpsons series, has signed on to voice star as the evil sorcerer Gargamel in the upcoming SMURFS Movie…

We previously learned that George Lopez, Jonathan Winters, hottie Katy Perry and Alan Cumming are all voice stars in this project as well. But the website confirmed that Perry will be voicing Smurfette.
Another one joining the cast, playing human character, is Jayma Mays (Glee), as the pregnant wife to NPH’s character. Production is set to begin next month and the story centers on the happy expectant couple’s lives being turned upside-down upon meeting the Smurfs.

Directed by Raja Gosnell who was responsible for helming Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. The movie is hybrid a.k.a mix of live action and CG small blue characters we’ve all come to know.  THE SMURFS is based on the characters created by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford known as Peyo, those of us who can remember the cartoon series way back when would know that there’ll be Papa Smurf, Sloppy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Smurfette and more in this big screen version.

If this isn’t one of the most terrible casting decisions ever, then I don’t know what is. Screenwriter Kyle Ward in charge of adapting the video game KANE & LYNCH for the big screen, tweeted, via comingsoon, that Jamie Foxx has been cast as Lynch, the crazy dude with the long hair, many fans have said Billy Bob Thornton would be perfect for that role.. but it’s gone to Foxx now..

Let’s just hope this is some kind of early April fools joke,.. maybe later on today we’ll hear this info denied but if not,.. then we’ll have to get used to Foxx as Lynch from here on out.
His character, James Seth LYNCH displays all the common characteristics of a schizophrenic, while Kane is a mercenary who makes an unlikely alliance with Lynch to retrieve a stolen microchip.

Bruce Willis was attached to play Kane in the movie KANE AND LYNCH based on the violent popular Eidos Entertainment video game KANE AND LYNCH: DEAD MEN
Simon Crane will make his feature directing debut, after serving as second unit director and stunt coordinator on such films as Hancock, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Troy and X-Men: The Last Stand

Dreamworks animation has released the teaser trailer for MEGAMIND, via Yahoo, you can watch it using the media player below. I’m not impressed at all… the ‘bad look good’ line seems unoriginal, and the joke about the music being not rockn’roll is also uinventive. I think it’s just another movie in the line of Dreamworks animated films that aren’t that entertaining.

You’re gonna wanna hear this.. it’s an outrageous True Story about a high school dropout named Esther Reed who created the ultimate fake ID, “scammed her way into Harvard and Columbia, and became the target of a nationwide manhunt.”
Ha! Unfreakinbelievable! Why didn’t I think of that?! I’ve always wanted to study at Harvard..

Whether Lady Gaga has junk in her panties is a hilarious mystery/talk of town but I’m a  Gaga fan cause she’s so herself, doesn’t care what anybody else thinks of her outrageous fashion,..and of course you all know I’m a die hard Quentin Tarantino fan, and turns out QT is a  Gaga fan too, so when that TELEPHONE music video incorporated QT’s Pussy Wagon vehicle, it was a sight to behold…
You know how it is, QT would talk of his future project whether it’d be KILL BILL 3 or BASTERDS prequel but he’ll be talking til there’’s no tomorrow, well, he’s talked again, via MTV UK, and he wants to cast Lady Gaga as a femme fatale professional killer in his movie..

QT “is a huge fan of GaGa and loves her whole personality. He has already sounded her out on a couple of projects, one of which would see her playing an assassin.”

Maybe it’ll have a sex scene so the world could finally see whether or not Gaga really has junk in her panties
I’m not against the idea of having Gaga play an assassin. I don’t know if she can act in front of the camera as eccentric as she does on stage. QT might even have to submit to Gaga’s demands as far as what her character will be wearing in the movie.
