USA Today has the new image from the upcoming movie THE SOLOIST starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx as a musician, hasn’t he done that type of character already?!

Instead of blindness, this time it’s schizophrenia, the story is based on a true story of a musical prodigy named Nathaniel Ayers who became schizophrenic while in Juilliard school. He ended up homeless and played his cello on LA Skid Row.

Robert Downey Jr. plays Steve Lopez in this movie and it’s awesome to know that he doesn’t wanna be typecast as Tony Stark. He chooses to take on different roles to stay versatile.
“I’ve loved every part of Iron Man,” says Downey, who will reprise his role in the comic book sequel, out in 2009. “But the last thing you want is to be seen as that guy, who just does that role.”
He will be seen this fall in the movie TROPIC THUNDER playing an Australian actor who makes his skin dark to play a black platoon soldier.
