Posted by Rama On May - 8 - 2008

Holy smokes! Will you take a look at this. The cover for Entertainment Weekly‘s next issue will have pictures of George W. Bush and Laura Bush only those aren’t them, those are Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) and Elizabeth Banks (Definitely Maybe).
So, What do you think about these two playing the President and the First Lady?

The project is titled W or some people would say,.. dub-ya!
The movie also stars James Cromwell as George Herbert Bush, Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush, Rob Corddry as Press Secretary Ari Fleischer who jokingly told MTV recently that’s he’s pretty terrified about playing the role but also thought there should be one movie about President Bush every year.
The screenplay was written pre-strike by Stanley Weiser, who had co-wrote Wall Street with Oliver Stone, who will be directing.
W. began filming late last month in Shreveport, Louisiana
They’re looking at November 2008 release or pre-inauguration release in January 2009.

In the article, director Oliver Stone, who’s no stranger to people criticizing him for his often controversial films, said about the difficulties finding actors to play the administration. He said that we’d be surprised how many actors are hard-core Republicans out there and don’t want any thing to do with the film.
And the Hollywood actors who are Democrats, well, let’s just say they hate Bush so much, they don’t want anything to do with the film as well.
Robert Duvall has turned down the offer to play Dick Cheney. No word on whether or not Paul Giamatti might take the role.
