Yeah, that sneak peek stuff didn’t satisfy you, did it? So it’s time to check out this full blown 30 second Super Bowl spot for G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA which hit the web via comingsoon.net, where you can see the hi-res version. Seems promising with all the visual and action and a nice shot of Sienna Miller as The Baroness in the beginning. This is so not the G.I. JOE we remember years ago when we were kids.
G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA opens August 7th, 2009

This is NOT the G.I.Joe I remember as a child…. but it DOES look good for a kickass action popcorn flick. We’ll see I guess.
Right now, my excuse to watch this are Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols..
If the action stuff turns out awesome.. then I’d consider that a bonus
I have to say Rama, I am not liking the current trends in movies these days. They are going back to the old, and remaking them. Childhood favorites that can easily be tarnished and destroyed by the very future that will taint the past joys I had when I was a child. (**cough** Transformers sux**cough**)
But it does look intriguing and yes, sadly I will fall in and watch it just because I use to have 100 GI Joe figures and only dreamed of a real life Snake Eyes flipping on cars. We shall see my movie cohort, we shall see.
I hear you, Dex..
and the truth is.. the trend is now about basing it on our favorite TOYS and GAMES when we were kids.
I kid you not, they’re even making MONOPOLY movie.
and you’re right,.. most people will end up watching this movie just for the eye-candy FX stuff this movie has to offer.. which includes Snake Eyes flipping on cars.
