George Clooney is a LEATHERHEAD

Usually a director will be known for one genre, Martin Scorsese makes gangster movies, M. Night Shyamalan makes mystery movies, Wes Anderson makes odd movies, and David Dobkin lately has been making movies with the frat pack.

Only sometimes would a director try a different approach just to test the water and see if he has what it takes to be a little well-rounded. Versatile directors like Ron Howard (The Grinch, A Beautiful Mind), of course Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan) and director George Clooney.

Being new in the field, Mr. People’s sexiest man in 1997, as George Clooney likes to brag from time to time, has shown the world that his directing skill is about as effective as his acting skill that got him an Oscar.
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Goodnight and Good Luck were trippy and clever drama/thriller and now he’s trying out comedy about football in the 1920s.

Also starring Renee Zelweger and the dude from TV’s The Office John Krasinski who, following his office co-workers Jenna Fischer and Steve Carell, has found his way into the movie connection…. let’s try to forget John’s been in License to Wed.
Here’s the trailer for LEATHERHEADS, which will tackle theaters everywhere April 4th, 2008.
