Those of us fans of the series Entourage would recognize gorgeous actress Emmanuelle Chriqui (pronounced ‘Shreeky’), her character Sloane and E were always in this annoying on and off relationship that hurts my head just thinking about it. Chiriqui was probably the only decent one in Zohan. Unfortunately he has signed on to star in a project that may not be promising for her career, all because of the project’s association with the director and the co-star…
According to Hollywood Reporter, Chiriqui will star alongside Val Kilmer in the war film titled GEORGIA. Not the one that’s part of the USA…. this is Georgia the former Soviet state.
The story is about an American journalist (Kilmer) involved in covering last year’s military conflict between Russia and Georgia. He and his cameraman get caught in the crossfire and a Georgia native (Chriqui) and doctoral student who becomes entangled with them.
Working with Kilmer usually means you don’t rule out the possibility the movie might go straight to DVD. Just look at how fast Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans goes from theater to home video, how sad!
To make things even less enthusiastic, GEORGIA will be directed by Renny Harlin who brought us the horrendous 12 Rounds starring John Cena.
You know, I took some time to look back to see where did it all go wrong?… Harlin made one of the best sequels of all time, Die Hard 2, and his movies after that were nothing short of entertaining, Cliffhanger, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea. Everything went downhill since he took on Sly’s flop Driven. I couldn’t stay up during The Covenant, that movie was pointless and dreadful. We’ll see if GEORGIA could be his way of fixing his reputation.
