One of the best performances by an actor this year, hands down, was delivered by Sam Rockwell who played astronaut in the phenomenal sci-fi movie MOON by director Duncan Jones. I stand by my opinion in my review when I said that if Jack Nicholson had One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Robert De Niro had Raging Bull, Sam Rockwell had MOON.
Which is why I’ve joined a campaign to get Rockwell nominated for an Oscar, the campaign that was started by Jones himself and are currently being promoted by great movie blogs like slashfilm and Collider…
You can help too, if you’ve seen the movie and you strongly believe that Rockwell deserves a nod, sign the online petition. The target is 1 Million votes, now it doesn’t mean that when it reaches that number the Oscar voters would just suddenly choose Rockwell but it will definitely give Sony Pictures Classic the incentive to move forward with funding the For Your Consideration marketing for Rockwell
Make sure you also visit Jones’ ManMadeMoon twitter and if the filmmaker encourages anybody out there who may know any Oscar voter to persuade them to vote for Rockwell.
