wellywood sign

New Zealand wants to have its own Hollywood sign. Via TheOneRingNet and Stuff, the image above is just an artist’s impression. The intention is to celebrate the heart of New Zealand’s film industry behind such powers as Lord Of The Rings thanks to the country’s most valuable filmmaker, Peter Jackson…. John Krasinski

John Krasinski didn’t get to be CAPTAIN AMERICA, so what’s he gonna do? A romantic comedy. Not as glamorous and heroic.. but.. whatever gets him out of The Office… I guess he’ll never escape Jim Halpert. Hollywood Reporter said Krasinski is going to star alongside Ginnifer Goodwin in SOMETHING BORROWED for Alcon Entertainment… Read the rest of this entry »

MURDER MYSTERY For Kevin Macdonald

Kevin Macdonald

The man in the image above is director Kevin Macdonald who brought us The Last King Of Scotland and whose last film State Of Play was a slow but decent thriller that didn’t get the box office money it deserved. I still believe that his best film is yet to come but I doubt it will be EAGLE OF THE NINTH, starring Channing Tatum, which is set to open this year… Read the rest of this entry »

Guy Ritchie

When info hit the web, that Guy Ritchie was going to direct another EXCALIBUR project housed at WB, 2 things we know, that it’s not the same as Bryan Singer’s EXCALIBUR project which is a remake of the 1981 old movie, and that Ritchie’s version would be based on the take by comic writer Warren Ellis who’s been working on it for a while but now Variety has said something different… Read the rest of this entry »

Wizard-of-Oz

As disappointing as Tim Burton’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND was, it did bank about $210 Million in its opening weekend so with that kind of money, every studio in town is thinking all you need is take a classic tale and plaster today’s 3D mania all over it and voila! You got yourself a box office win. The upcoming CLASH OF THE TITANS is another example of why this strategy will work. LA TIMES said WB wants the same for THE WIZARD OF OZ remake… Read the rest of this entry »

Geoffrey Fletcher

Hands down, the biggest surprise at the Oscars last Sunday was Geoffrey Fletcher’s win for Best Adapted Screenplay. Everybody was expecting Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner to snatch that one for Up In The Air. Fletcher’s win practically came out of nowhere, but… Read the rest of this entry »

Eclipse

Here’s for my friend Karen and all you Twilight fangirls everywhere. It was previously promised by Summit Entertainment that the first teaser for Twilight Saga: ECLIPSE would be attached to Rob Pattinson’s new drama REMEMBER ME which opens this weekend, which is still the case. But as usual, when a teaser or a trailer is scheduled to arrive in a certain weekend, that also means it will hit the web early on that same week… Read the rest of this entry »

Captain America

And just like the the info from Fox411 got scrapped today, turns out TV’s The Office star John Krasinski is NOT the studio’s top favorite to play Steve Rogers in the upcoming live action Marvel movie THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, directed by Joe Johnston. But one of these 4 lucky contenders might get the coveted role… Read the rest of this entry »

Repo Men

The official website of the upcoming action/thriller/sci-fi REPO MEN has the new restricted Director’s Cut trailer that for some reason has a more soothing music than the previous red-band version but it’s just as violent. I think the story would be formulaic but I’m still sold on the prospect of watching Jude Law and Forest Whitaker fighting it out in a duel to the death. Watch it using the media player below where you don’t need to verify your age… Read the rest of this entry »

Rapunzel1

When Disney changed the title RAPUNZEL to TANGLED, (watch the teaser) I thought it was a lame move, plus the previous title was more recognizable. But Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios explained, via LA TIMES why the change is necessary and after reading this excerpt, I still don’t like the new title but I can understand the motivation behind it..
