Here is the animated prologue for HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY that was released online recently.
It helps us understand the story of the movie by explaining us what happens before it.
That tree in the beginning part reminds me of the tree in director Guillermo Del Toro‘s masterpiece Pan’s Labyrinth.
I think it’s good that sequels nowadays would have stuff like this. Although the animation in this one isn’t as sophisticated as THE GOTHAM KNIGHT (which is the action prologue DVD to The Dark Knight) but HELLBOY II: THE ANIMATED PROLOGUE still has that graphic novel look and it’s straight to the point.
