Earlier this month it was announced that HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE would have to wait a bit longer to get IMAX treatment. The movie will still open on June 15th, but most fans here in the U.S. won’t get to see those promised extra footage in 3D until later on because Paramount has signed a deal with IMAX that would give TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN a 4-week run from the day it opens on June 24th. Now that everybody knows the Bay’s giant robot sequel was long and dreadful, would people really wanna watch the movie twice on the giant screen again?! I don’t think this movie deserves that long a stay.
HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE opens on July 15th, 2009, its IMAX release is limited in NY and LA but its nationwide release in IMAX will be on July 29th, 2009. Mark your calendar!
