The DVD for I AM LEGEND will be out on March 18th, but someone has leaked the alternated ending online.

I like this ending better, it shows he was kind of right after all that they did have some human emotions left after all. I think the hero dying at the end is too played out when you can come up with something like this.
But didn’t make him die at the end make you feel like he’s the man!
Cause a hero who sacrificed his life is more celebrated, he leaves a mark that’s more memorable than just a happy ending, don’t you think?
And what about that bridge? I thought all the NY Bridges have been destroyed at the beginning of the movie as one of Will’s flashbacks?
The only thing I like about this alternate ending is that if they ever make a sequel, then they can use Will Smith again for the role.
After watching this great movie, I just can’t imagine I AM LEGEND 2 without Will.
I actually prefer this ending. More closure, better character development, keeps you thinking and imagining. I like it.
Lol, the ending has much less to do with the book. I think I prefer the original ending, because it leaves a much scarier mark, I mean if the “creatures” can feel emotion and have their own society so be it, but why do they go dying like crazy trying to get into the mansion for just one of them. It makes it so that they have a complex society of sorts… and then after all that they leave him after he returns their female?
Hahaha, I wish they had made it exactly like the book, that would have been an awesome movie, instead we get this watered down version of the story and this alternate ending wasn’t really as good as the ending they showed.
A dead hero is better because it means he doesn’t screw up again later down the road.

Wow. I really did not get the same feel with this ending as the original. Yeah Ronald, how does it end in the book? like rama i haven’t had the pleasure of reading it. I know there’s other movies made about it but this is the only one i saw. But i gotta say that this ending was just not cut out for me. I liked the original ending with the hero going out in a blaze of glory. and yes rama, that’s a good point about the bridges. but then again, how would she have gotten out of manhattan when she went to virginia in the original. just that the alternate ending made it more obvious the question about this issue. continuation would is jeopardized both ways they ended it. however, the point is, this ending was not as good. i like the original ending and i’m looking forward to watching this movie again on dvd, i love this movie.
The ending of the book has Robert Neville executed by the vampire society. Since there were two groups, the smart one as seen here in this ending, and the crazy one as seen in the other endings.
