Disneyland half-marathon 2009 was freakin’ awesome! It was only 13.1 miles but me and all of the other runners got to run through Disneyland and California Adventures and we even ran inside Angel Stadium, what an amazing experience! Great, encouraging spectators from local schools, euphoria was in the air, everybody was in a good mood, and special cameos from Disney characters. Mickey was there, Alice was there, Woody and Bullseye was there, too bad my favorite Disney character Belle from Beauty and the Beast wasn’t there, which is probably a good thing cause otherwise I’d forget about the race and literally grab her, put her in my car, drive her home so she’d be my prisoner… I kid
I wonder if Marvel Characters would show up at next year’s Marathon now that Disney bought all of them. Finally, my marathon that could have something to do with movies.
The race started at 6 AM and you would not believe the ocean of Hotties that were there, Orange County is blessed, I tell ya. I finished the whole thing in 2 hours and 11 minutes. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed, I wanted it under 2 hours but.. it was my fault because I stood up til midnight last night after John Williams’ Concert at Hollywood Bowl and I didn’t get to eat any kind of food before the race so I got a bit dizzy after the 9th mile.
But still, I’d do it all over again, I would run the next one… and you should too. If you want to run full marathons (26.2 miles) next year in 2010 with me, give me a holla, I’ll be running Napa Valley in March, L.A. in May, San Francisco in July and hopefully Honolulu Marathon in December, if all goes well.
Disneyland half-marathon was truly the happiest race on earth!
