Blackfilm had a discussion with rapper turned actor Ice Cube he was asked about whether or not he would like to play B.A. Baracus. He said…
Hell yeah, especially with John Singleton directing!
Ice Cube was in John Singleton’s movie Boyz N The Hood. That was a hardcore film. Director Singleton was nominated for that one.
I really hope Ice Cube gets the pick to play B.A. Baracus. He looks the part. He goes on to explain what he would do different with the role.
I wouldn’t try to duplicate what Mr. T did, but I will have the same impact on you when you were little watching the TV show. I’m going to bring my own flavor to it and I am going to do the mohawk.
So the big question is: What’s the hold up, Ice Cube?
They want me to do it if all the business works out right. I was a fan as a kid and that would be, not a dream come true, but it’s definitely a good thing to do and I would put it on my resume for sure.
Cube, though not a good actor, he is a not bad businessman either, he has been doing comedy films in recent years. He is the head of his own production company Cube Vision producing hit and miss films such as the Friday movies, Are We There Yet? and Barbershop.
But the movie version of The A-Team will be anything but comedy because the word is that it’s going to be a dark, gritty thriller, kinda like how filmmaker Michael Mann transformed Miami Vice.
