Criminal Empire for Dummys

If big names star in an Indie project, does that still make it an Indie film? It seems like Indie films are just easy channels for these A-listers to play roles that they hope will finally give them that Oscar they always wanted. Or maybe it’s just me being all judgmental. Variety said Gary Oldman, Malin Akerman, Milo Ventimiglia, Michael Clarke Duncan and Harvey Keitel will star in indie gangster titled CRIMINAL EMPIRE FOR DUMMYS which will be the directorial debut Cliff Dorfman, based on his own script… Read the rest of this entry »

Steve Martin Jack Black Owen Wilson

Overall I gave the Oscar hosting performance of Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin a B-… because as much as I enjoyed going back to comedy instead of musical, some of their jokes were a bit off and awkward, they were too busy mocking each other and the audiences didn’t get it most of the time. Fresh off of It’s Complicated, according to HollywoodReporter, Martin has signed on to star alongside Jack Black and Owen Wilson in THE BIG YEAR for Fox 2000… Read the rest of this entry »

Rodrick Rules

I had no idea how popular this DIARY OF A WIMPY KID book series actually is. I know the adaptation is hitting theaters in a couple of weeks, we’ve seen the trailer which didn’t seem that appealing, at least KICK-ASS girl Chloe Moretz is in there…but apparently the books have quite the fanbase. The producer of the movie producer Brad Simpson told comingsoon that the writers have started working on the sequel… Read the rest of this entry »

Jason Segel Ed Helms

A couple of months ago, movieweb scored an exlusive from the filmmakers behind Bagheads, Mark and Jay Duplass that they were working on a project titled JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME, it’s a stoner comedy that Jason Reitman (Up In The Air) is producing. Hollywood Reporter today has said that Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Ed Helms (The Hangover) will be the lead stars.
JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME is being set up at Paramount. The Duplass Bros. are writing and directing, the story is “a day in the life of two brothers, one a loser (Segel) who lives at home and the other (Helms) more together but overbearing.”
Judy Greer (Love Happens) is in talks to play Helms’ wife and the role of those brothers’ mother is being cast.
Production starts next month in Louisiana.

Leonardo Da Vinci

There’s a new wave of trend in town.. no, not 3D.. no, not team Jacob nor team Edward.. it’s the wave of taking period or historical characters and placing them in a fictional action/adventure setting. Sherlock Holmes received the Guy Ritchie style of action/adventure, Francis Lawrence is bringing us a more action packed story of MARCO POLO, Tim Burton is producing the adaptation of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTERS. And now, Leonardo Da Vinci is going to so much more than just enjoying The Last Supper and painting Mona LisaRead the rest of this entry »

Dustin Lance Black J. Edgar Hoover Clint Eastwood

Last week when Pajiba reported that Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black was writing a biopic of J.Edgar Hoover, simply titled HOOVER, I had no idea that in reality, Black has written it a year ago, but it also should’ve hit me who then would be perfect to direct such an ambitious project. Variety said the great legendary filmmaker Clint Eastwood wants the job… Read the rest of this entry »

Robin Hood1

Universal has released the new full trailer for ROBIN HOOD via Yahoo, and one of the shots oddly reminds me of the Omaha beach invasion in Saving Private Ryan. Maximus rises again but now with bow and arrows in place of swords and the arena. This new trailer offers more background, more into the characters and their motivation, more of ‘you are your father’s son’. Check it out after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Prince Of Persia
