If you took away the Remakes and The Sequels, what would Hollywood be?
Would Hollywood wither and slowly die if there’s no more Spiderman movies to do?
Would it not know what to do anymore if Steven Spielberg stops making Indiana Jones movies?
What would Hollywood be without Remakes and Sequels??
And in the spirit of Sequels, there’s buttload of info today that focus on second installment, fourth installment and bagazillionth installment.
So I’m just gonna put them all in this one simple post. Rock on!
1). THE BOURNE 4
No one knows what it’s going to be titled exactly, author Robert Ludlum only wrote so much and that much has been brought to the big screen already. So what would Jason Bourne’s next adventure be?
Producer Frank Marshall told IESB plans to begin shooting a fourth Jason Bourne movie next Summer, for release in 2010 with director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon expected to return.
“There was a fourth book written, but it was not by Mr. Ludlum. So we’re probably going to take our own direction and we’re working on what that storyline’s gonna be right now.”
Original story, huh? Any Suggestion?
Matt Damon once said that he’d reprise his role only if Paul Greengrass would return to direct as well.
The word is that Jason Bourne might Journey to South America.
Maybe they should call it THE BOURNE QUATRO
2). CARS 2
It was reported a while back that the great Paul Newman is struggling with cancer.
I hope it’s not that bad, because frankly I don’t know if I can take losing another great actor.
We’ve lost so many already this year, and it’s not even July yet.
Hang in there, Paul Newman!
Via MTV, the word is that the fine writers at Pixar are including the character Doc Hudson in CARS 2, which will be released in 2012.
However, they’re very much hoping Paul Newman will be healthy enough to reprise the role.
3). KUNG FU PANDA 2
Hiya! I enjoyed Kung Fu Panda. That’s definitely something you just know the story can continue somehow.
Well guess what! They’re not wasting another minute…
Here’s according to TAG Blog
Every building of the DW campus is bursting with activity. Monsters and Aliens, Shrek, Madagascar Deux, and on and on. DreamWorks’ Lakeside Building is getting enlarged, and the administrative staff is gone from the upper floors.
But down on the lower levels, artists are working. A story crew has started early work in Kung Fu Panda, the Sequel, even while animators are hand-drawing new material for the DVD of Kung Fu Panda, the original.
No word yet on when the movie might be released.
But keep the hopes alive, grasshopper…Awesome!
4). SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL
Last but not least, the man in blue tights. The DC Comic Superhero that bombed at the box office in 2006 because the fans didn’t like Superman Returns.
All that is about to change with MAN OF STEEL, but what about JLA The Movie?
Here’s what Brandon Routh said to Hollywood.com…
“I think it seems as though [the 'Justice League' movie is] not happening, it’s on the back burner right now so it’s just ‘Man of Steel’ now, I know, they’re busy writing a script and then I trust we’ll be starting next year, early next year. That’s my timeline anyway.”
Confident words from the man who could be the Christopher Reeve’s long lost twin brother.
Their resemblance is so striking, it’s borderline creepy, man!
I think SUPERMAN deserves another chance, don’t you think?
If Marvel Comic Superheroes can do awesome, well, DC Comics Superheroes can do just as great!
And I don’t think it’s necessary for Edward Norton to come, save the day and remake Superman too like he did The Hulk.
The Superman Returns situation wasn’t as bad as Ang Lee’s The Hulk.
