It’s VAMP Time For Amy Heckerling

Amy Heckerling, Krysten Ritter

Here’s a name you haven’t heard in a while. Amy Heckerling, the female filmmaker behind classics like Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Look Who’s Talking and its sequel, and of course Clueless. Who can forget the only film that Alicia Silverstone could be proud of. Heckerling’s film Loser in 2000 starring Jason Biggs, however, was a major disappointment in my book and I’ve never even watched I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007). I think I’d be fine if I live the rest of my life without ever watching it, not even once. Heckerling sees the vampire trend that’s been sweeping tweens and fangirls every girls and decides to join in…

According to Screendaily, Heckerling is set to write and direct a Vampire romantic comedy titled VAMPS for Parlay Films.
Wasn’t Twilight a romantic comedy? Well at least it was to some of us.
VAMPS already has one star so far, actress Krysten Ritter (27 Dresses, What Happens In Vegas, Confessions Of A Shopaholic), the story is “a modern-day tale of two young female vampires living the good life in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality.”
Ah yes, love triangle, very… generic. We’ll see how this plays out, for now it’s somewhat good to have Heckerling back in the arena but I think we can all agree that her better days are behind her, way behind her.
